History
Miotsukushi was established in 1996 in Osaka, Japan, as a publisher focused on poetry and poetry criticism. Over the years, it has released numerous poetry collections, many of which have received prestigious literary awards. The publisher has also been involved in launching and managing poetry magazines. In 2008, it launched the magazine 'Bīguru: Umi e no Shō' (びーぐる:詩の海へ), edited by Takakai Kiichi, Hosomi Kazuyuki, Yamada Kenshi, and Yotsumoto Yasuhiro. This magazine ran until 2023, ending with its 59th issue, which was a memorial tribute to Yamada Kenshi. Another magazine series, 'Irippusu', saw its second iteration end in 2022 with issue 37, and a third iteration was launched the same year. Miotsukushi also published 'Kansai Bungaku' (関西文学), which was discontinued, and it awarded the Kansai Literature Newcomer Prize. The press has published works by notable poets such as Tanikawa Shuntarō, including 'Tanikawa Shuntarō: Reading Poetry' (2004) and 'Picture Book' (2010).
