Overview
MMAG Co., Ltd. was a Japanese agrochemical manufacturer headquartered in Chuo-ku, Tokyo. It was established in September 2021 as a subsidiary of Meiji Seika Pharma, created specifically to receive Meiji Seika Pharma's agrochemical business via an absorption-type company split. On January 4, 2022, the agrochemical business was transferred to MMAG, and simultaneously all shares of MMAG were sold to Mitsui Chemicals Agro, Inc. for approximately 42.2 billion yen. This transaction made MMAG a wholly owned subsidiary of Mitsui Chemicals Agro, and its headquarters were located in the same Nihonbashi Dia Building as its parent. Following the acquisition, some products continued to use the Meiji brand. In January 2023, Mitsui Chemicals Agro announced a group reorganization: on March 31, 2023, Mitsui Chemicals Agro changed its name to Mitsui Chemicals Crop & Life Solutions Co., Ltd., and on the same date, MMAG was absorbed and merged into it, resulting in MMAG's dissolution. Its subsidiary MM Agro Chemical was also merged into MC Crop & Life Kasei on April 1, 2023. MMAG's product portfolio included the fungicide Oryzemate, the herbicide Zaxa liquid formulation, fungicides such as Agrept, Manage, Copper Stomy WP, Materina WP, and Kapper Shin WP, and plant growth regulators such as Gibberellin Meiji and Jasmonate liquid. The company operated in Japan and South Korea through its subsidiary MM Agro Korea.
