Overview
MyIP Networks is a Greek web hosting, cloud and network services company headquartered in Xanthi, northern Greece. It was founded in 2007 and describes itself as a genuine Greek provider rather than a reseller of foreign capacity. The company operates its own autonomous system, its own IPv4 and IPv6 allocations as a RIPE NCC LIR member, and its own racks in two Greek data centres: SNC-1 in Thessaloniki and SNC-2 in Athens. It peers at the Greek Internet Exchange (GR-IX) and NETIX, and is registered with the Greek telecoms regulator EETT. Its published service promise centres on four words: quality, security, reliability and support. The product range covers shared web hosting on cPanel, DirectAdmin, LiteSpeed and CloudLinux; managed cloud and KVM virtual private servers running on Proxmox with Ceph-backed storage and live migration; bare-metal dedicated servers based on AMD EPYC and Intel Xeon; colocation, BGP transit and IPv4 services; domain registration across .gr, .com, .eu and more than 400 TLDs with anycast DNS; and specialised streaming hosting for online radio using Icecast and Centova Cast. The company also develops its own security tooling, including components it names CFM and Argus, and states that it employs the developers who wrote them. MyIP Networks positions itself on ownership and accountability: own network, own hardware, own security stack, and a single chain of responsibility from infrastructure to support. It advertises a 99.99% uptime SLA, sub-5 ms latency to GR-IX, 24/7 human support in Greek, and EU data residency. Its customer base is described as thousands of Greek websites and businesses. The company is a Dell partner for server hardware and an ISO-27001 certified organisation according to its own about page. It remains a privately held Greek company, MyIP Networks O.E., with VAT number EL 800561849 and GEMI registration 129451646000.
History
MyIP Networks was founded in 2007 and is headquartered in Xanthi, Greece. According to its own about page, the company was created in response to a market in which many so-called Greek hosting providers were in fact resellers of cheap US or Eastern European racks with a Greek phone number attached. The founders wanted to build infrastructure that was genuinely located in Greece, with local ownership, local operation and local responsibility. Over the following years the company built out its own autonomous system, obtained its own IPv4 and IPv6 allocations as a RIPE NCC LIR member, and established its own racks in two Greek data centres: SNC-1 in Thessaloniki and SNC-2 in Athens. It also peers directly at the Greek Internet Exchange (GR-IX) and at NETIX, and is registered with the Greek telecoms regulator EETT. The company states that it employs the developers who wrote its own security tools, including components it calls CFM and Argus, so that when something breaks the on-call developer can read the code. By the 2020s MyIP Networks offered a broad infrastructure stack: shared hosting on cPanel, DirectAdmin, LiteSpeed and CloudLinux; managed cloud and KVM VPS on Proxmox with Ceph-backed storage and live migration; bare-metal dedicated servers on AMD EPYC and Intel Xeon; colocation, BGP transit and IPv4 services; domain registration across .gr, .com, .eu and more than 400 TLDs with anycast DNS; and streaming hosting for online radio using Icecast and Centova Cast. Its published service guarantee is summarised in four words: quality, security, reliability and support. The company advertises a 99.99% uptime SLA, sub-5 ms latency to GR-IX, 24/7 human support in Greek, and EU data residency, and describes its customer base as thousands of Greek websites and businesses. It is a Dell partner for server hardware and states that it is ISO-27001 certified. MyIP Networks remains a privately held Greek company, MyIP Networks O.E., registered in Xanthi with VAT number EL 800561849 and GEMI number 129451646000.
