Nadace Veronica

Nadace Veronica is the largest Moravian foundation focused on the protection of nature, landscape and the environment. Its activities include the Boryt Story project, which uses natural dyeing of fabrics with invasive plants, and it also runs a network of charity shops (nadační obchody).

Nadace Veronica is the largest Moravian foundation focused on the protection of nature, landscape and the environment. Its Boryt Story project focuses on natural dyeing: boryt barvířský (woad) is a plant with excellent dyeing properties and also an invasive species that displaces native plant species, so conservationists pull it out in spring. Together with fashion students from the Ekotextil design programme at SŠUD Brno and other creatives (Czech-American artist Sonya Darrow), woad was collected in protected areas around Brno, processed into pigment balls and used to dye fabric from which participants designed and created zero waste models. The foundation also operates charity shops (nadační obchody).
