Overview

NIDOM (ニドム) is a resort brand and destination in Tomakomai, Hokkaido, Japan. It originated as part of the national and Hokkaido Technopolis concept, specifically the 'Hokkaido Central Technopolis Forest-Type International Resort Development Base Plan,' under which resort construction began. The brand's flagship asset is the NIDOM Classic Course, a 274-hectare forest course whose design concept is 'Beautiful & Tough.' The course comprises 45 holes across two layouts: the Nispa Course, named from the Ainu word for 'chief,' and the Ikoro Course, named from the Ainu word for 'treasure.' Hotel NIDOM is notable for its all-log-cabin guest rooms made of Finnish timber; Leonard Bernstein stayed there in his later years during the founding of the Pacific Music Festival (PMF). The resort also offers an indoor heated pool, tennis courts, rental bicycles, cross-country skiing, snowshoeing, and optional tours in the surrounding area. The NIDOM complex includes the golf clubhouse, NIDOM Jingisukan restaurant, NIDOM Shop, Hotel NIDOM with various cabin types (Risu no Mori, Risu no Mori Lakeside King Bedroom, Takanosu), wedding chapels (Ishizai no Kyokai and Mori no Kyokai), restaurants, banquet rooms, a natural hot spring and sauna, a flower garden, tennis courts, and Lake Tomtom. The brand has hosted major golf tournaments and international conferences, and remains an active resort destination.
