NK Group

NK Group (НК-Групп) is a holding company described as an association of trading, transport and production companies in Kemerovo Oblast. Its main activity is the production and sale of ice cream and frozen semi-finished products. The group's main ice cream brand is Snezhny Gorodok, and it also develops brands such as Sibirsky Fakel, Sibirsky Ugol, Marusya, Zolotoy Rezerv, Ldinka and Mega Ice. The holding includes a kiosk network of 359 outlets across Siberia and Buryatia and a chain of 50 Plombirnaya ice cream shops. It states that it is among the top five Russian ice cream producers and one of the largest Russian ice cream exporters, with sales in more than 55 regions of Russia and products present in all federal retail chains. The group employs over 1,500 people and reports an annual turnover of 2.5 billion rubles. Its general director is Artem Sergeevich Bachurin.

The history of the enterprise dates back to 1949, when a decision was made to build a cold storage plant in the city of Stalinsk (now Novokuznetsk) to supply food to residents of southern Kuzbass. The site was chosen next to the railway station so that rail lines could be laid directly to the warehouse facilities. In 1953 the plant was commissioned, and in the same year an ice cream production workshop was built and launched. According to the technical project, the factory's production capacity was three thousand tonnes per shift. In 1953 residents first tasted the cold storage plant's ice cream with raisins or nuts in a waffle cup, and in 1954 Novokuznetsk residents were already enjoying more varieties. The modern NK Group describes itself as a holding that unites trading, transport and production companies, with ice cream and frozen semi-finished products as its main activity.
