Oihuka

Oihuka is an independent record label founded in the Basque Country in the mid-1980s by Marino Goñi. It is currently directed by Ritxi Aizpuru. In 1987, Oihuka absorbed the entire catalogue of the defunct label Soñua, which had also been founded by Goñi. Although Oihuka is not specialized in any single musical genre—having released groups spanning rock, punk, heavy metal, reggae, rap, and pop—it is specifically focused on groups from the Basque Country and Navarre. During the 1980s, it was a pioneering label in the so-called Basque Radical Rock (rock radical vasco) movement, and its catalogue includes the most important bands of that genre, such as La Polla Records, Kortatu, Baldin Bada, Barricada, and M.C.D.
