Overview

Omaze is an entertainment company with a social purpose. It gives its community in the UK and Germany the chance to win luxury homes and other life-changing prizes while raising funds for the causes they love. Since 2012, it has offered millions of people the chance to follow their dreams and, together with its community, has raised hundreds of millions of dollars for charity. Through the Omaze Million Pound House Draw, more than 50 people are now millionaires, and the Omaze Community has raised over $250M for charity partners including Make-A-Wish, Feeding America, British Heart Foundation, the RSPCA, Age UK, and SOS Children's Villages.

History

In 2011, Co-Founder and CEO Matt attended a charity event where the auction prize was the chance to play basketball with Magic Johnson and attend a Lakers game. With bids going up and the experience only available to the high-net-worth individuals in the room, Matt and future Co-Founder Ryan couldn't afford to take part. This got them thinking about making such experiences available to anyone for a chance to win. In 2012, Omaze was born, created by Matt and Ryan, offering anyone the chance to win once-in-a-lifetime experiences while raising funds and awareness for great causes. As an entertainment company with a social purpose, the concept was loved by some of the world's best-known athletes, personalities and entertainers, who wanted to take part. Prizes included 'Ride in a Tank with Arnold Schwarzenegger and Crush Things', 'Have John Legend Play at Your Wedding', 'Play Tennis with Serena Williams', and 'Win a Lamborghini Where Pope Francis Hands You the Keys'. Thousands of winners got to follow their dreams, and the Omaze Community raised hundreds of millions of dollars for charities like UNICEF, Feeding America, Make-a-Wish and Team Rubicon. In 2018, Matt's life changed following complications from a condition at birth; he was rushed to the hospital and flatlined for four and a half minutes.
