Overview

PAD Multienergy S.p.A. is an Italian petrol company headquartered in Senigallia. It was founded on 23 August 1999 as Petrolifera Adriatica, a joint venture between Goldengas, a Senigallia-based company owned by the Petrolini family and specialised in fuels and LPG, and Brixia Finanziaria of Brescia. The company was created to take over an initial package of 230 Agip and IP service stations divested by Eni, located mainly in Central Italy (Marche, Abruzzo, Molise, Umbria, Lazio) and Sardinia. In 2017 it signed an agreement with Esso Italiana to acquire 135 sites, concentrated especially in Tuscany, Marche and Abruzzo, keeping the Esso brand through a licensing and exclusive fuel supply agreement for the first years. In 2022, following a deep internal reorganisation and the further contribution of 140 sites by Brixia Finanziaria, Petrolifera Adriatica changed its name to PAD Multienergy. In the same year it signed an agreement with Shell to bring the brand back to Italy after eight years since the sale of service stations to Q8 Italia. Under this agreement PAD Multienergy replaced its own sign with Shell's at over 500 distributors. The company operates in the Italian fuel retail market.
