PingCAP

PingCAP started in 2015 when three seasoned infrastructure engineers decided to build a database solution themselves, the open-source way. With the help of hundreds of global contributors, PingCAP is building TiDB, an advanced, open source, distributed SQL database with MySQL compatibility. TiKV, TiDB's Key-Value storage layer, is a CNCF Graduated project.

Seeing no good solution on the market, they decided to build one themselves — the open-source way. With the help of hundreds of global contributors, PingCAP is building TiDB, an advanced, open source, distributed SQL database with MySQL compatibility. TiDB is described as one of the most popular open-source database projects in the world, and TiKV, TiDB's Key-Value storage layer, is a CNCF Graduated project.
