Prima Music

Prima Music AS is a Norwegian company founded in 1993 by Lars Overhalden, Irene Berggren, Bjørn Skjennum and Hanne Beate Haugen. It began as a record label, releasing children's records and gospel music, and over time evolved into a distributor and retailer of Christian gift articles, CDs, vinyl, used LPs, used books and DVDs. According to its official website, it is Scandinavia's leading distributor of Christian gift articles, carrying around 3,000 different gift items alongside music and media. The company represents major Christian gift and book suppliers such as Christian Art Gifts, 316 Europe, Dayspring, Divinity, P Graham Dunn, Kerusso, Bob Siemon Designs, Thomas Nelson, Universal Designs, Swanson, Scripture Candy, Scripture Designs and Christian Tools of Affirmation. Its product range spans children's articles, anointing oils and balms, puzzles, party favors and other faith-themed merchandise. Prima Music operates primarily in the Norwegian and wider Scandinavian market, importing Christian products from the United States and distributing them through its online store and other channels. It remains a private company and is active as of the 2020s.

Prima Music AS was established in 1993 by Lars Overhalden, Irene Berggren, Bjørn Skjennum and Hanne Beate Haugen. The company started as a record label and in 1993 released two children's records with Kine Ludvigsen, which together sold 30,000 copies, as well as a release with Stavanger Gospel Choir that sold 12,000 copies. In 1999 the label published the compilation 'The Gospel according to …' with Stephen Ackles, which entered the VG-lista chart. During the 2000s, sales of physical CDs declined, and Prima Music gradually began importing and selling Christian gift articles from the United States alongside its music production. The company came to represent all the major suppliers in this segment and, as of 2024, carries approximately 3,000 gift articles, making it Scandinavia's leading supplier of Christian gift articles. It also imports CDs by Christian artists from the USA, and its catalogue includes vinyl records and used LPs. The official website describes Prima Music as 'Din totalleverandør av kristne gaveartikler' (your total supplier of Christian gift articles) and lists partners such as Christian Art Gifts, 316 Europe, Dayspring, Divinity, P Graham Dunn, Kerusso, Bob Siemon Designs, Thomas Nelson, Universal Designs, Swanson, Scripture Candy, Scripture Designs and Christian Tools of Affirmation. The product range includes children's articles, anointing oils and balms, puzzles and other faith-themed merchandise.
