R82 is a product brand within Etac's portfolio of specialised product brands. It was founded in 1982 in Denmark by Erik Ernst, Flemming Møller and Lars Lykke, who with experience from the field saw the need for improved pediatric assistive devices, and it was acquired by Etac in 2011. R82 offers innovative paediatric solutions adapted to the needs of the individual and the caregiver, providing support and promoting participation in daily activities, including wheelchairs and seating, standing frames, walking aids, bathroom aids and transportation solutions.

It was acquired by Etac in 2011. Etac itself was founded in 1973 as RFSU Rehab, later renamed Etac, driven by Sverker Göthberg's vision of providing a new range of assistive devices with innovation, functionality and design in mind. In 2011 Nordstjernan, a Swedish family-controlled, unlisted investment company, assumed full ownership of Etac, having already owned 60% of Etac since 2006.
