Overview

Raheem & Son is a heritage rug house founded in 1927 in Bhadohi, India. It manufactures hand-knotted, hand-woven and hand-tufted rugs in wool, silk and natural fibres for buyers, designers and homes worldwide. The company is a large-scale handmade rug manufacturer and exporter, serving bulk, wholesale and contract volumes, with a weaver network spanning the Bhadohi to Mirzapur carpet belt. It is CEPC-registered and ships to 130+ countries.

History

Raheem & Son was established in Bhadohi in 1927 as one of the earliest Indian-owned carpet export houses. In 1939, the business expanded across continents, rising among Bhadohi's leading exporters. In 1969, tufted weaving was introduced to the Indian industry through Nath K. Milgrim, who brought the first tufting gun, and flat-weaving techniques were adopted. In 1978, the founders served as founding members of the All India Carpet Trade Fair Committee in Varanasi, whose efforts led to the formation of the Carpet Export Promotion Council (CEPC) in 1982. In 2009, the Directorate of Industries, Government of Uttar Pradesh, awarded Raheem and Son the Four-Star Category Certificate.
