Red Can Records

Red Can Records (stylised as red.can.records) is a German independent record label based in Munich, founded in 2001 by Bernd Hofmann, who also works under the aliases "Señor (Bernie) Burns" and "Red Can". The label grew out of a study project by Hofmann, a trained carpenter who later studied at the Academy of Fine Arts Munich from 2000 to 2006 with a focus on cover design. This background shaped the label's strong visual identity: the artwork for most Red Can Records releases is created by Hofmann himself, though other artists also contribute covers. In addition, the label designs project posters for other labels. A catalogue documentation titled Camping Academy & The One Man Red Can Show was published alongside the label's activities, partly in collaboration with Karl Bruckmaier. As an independent label, Red Can Records operates in the German music market and is documented in the catalogue of the German National Library as well as on Discogs.
