History

Reksoft was established in Saint Petersburg in 1991 by Alexander Egorov and two fellow graduates or associates from Saint Petersburg State University of Aerospace Instrumentation. The company secured its first international contract in 1992 with Ascom Infrasys, a Swiss telecommunications concern. Its work for Ascom included software for telecommunications solutions and PBX operations, establishing an early pattern of serving overseas enterprise and technology customers. From 1995 through 1998, Reksoft developed proprietary software and Internet-related businesses in addition to undertaking client projects. Its initiatives included Barsum, a call-accounting and billing system; Assist, an online payment gateway; Ozon, an Internet retailer; and Edelweiss/Medallion, a property-management system. Several of these businesses were later spun off or sold. Barsum was separated in 2005, Assist was sold to mCommerce in 2003, Ozon was acquired by an investment fund in 2000, and Edelweiss/Medallion was sold to Softbrands in 2003. The company formalized its operating processes during the 2000s. Its business processes were assessed against ISO 9001:2000 in 2000. In 2001, Reksoft opened an internal training center offering undergraduate instruction in software development, software testing, and project management. It expanded its international and delivery footprint in 2003 by opening a Stockholm sales office and a Moscow development center. A Munich sales office followed in 2007, broadening the company's European commercial coverage. MartinsonTrigon, a Nordic venture-capital firm, invested in Reksoft in 2005 to support growth. Reksoft reached CMMI Level 4 assessment in 2006. In 2008, Technoserv acquired a 74 percent stake in the business. The same period brought a new development center in Voronezh and connected Reksoft to Technoserv's larger Russian systems-integration platform. In 2009, Reksoft passed an ISO 9001:2008 certification audit and was assessed at CMMI Level 5. Industry recognition followed. Reksoft was named a Rising Star by the International Association of Outsourcing Professionals in 2009, appeared in the Global Services 100 in 2010, 2011, and 2012, and received further Rising Star recognition in the association's 2013 ranking. In 2010 it also joined the Climate Savers Computing Initiative. Clutch later included the company among the top 100 Western European developers in 2020. By April 2021, Reksoft reported having served more than 1,000 companies worldwide. Its cited client list covered telecommunications, information technology, industrial manufacturing, media, consumer products, finance, retail, and transportation-related businesses. The reference material confirms a base in Saint Petersburg, regional offices in Stockholm and Munich, and Russian development centers in Moscow and Voronezh. It does not provide sufficiently current information about the company's present ownership, leadership, website, or operating status.
