Overview

Rifugio Lavaredo is a mountain hut located at the foot of the Tre Cime di Lavaredo, a UNESCO World Heritage site. It was built in 1954 by mountain guide Francesco "Mazzetta" Corte Colò, a pioneer of wall rescue in the Tre Cime area since the early 1950s and one of the founders of the Auronzo mountain rescue service. Thanks to its favorable position, the hut serves as an excellent approach point for most ascents of the Lavaredo peaks. From the hut, visitors can enjoy splendid panoramas and reach other huts in the area via trails, via ferrata routes, and World War I walkways. Next to the hut is a station for rescue and helicopter rescue operations. The hut can be reached by a comfortable 20-minute walk from the parking area at the end of the panoramic road from Misurina.
