Overview
Ringer GmbH, commonly known as RINGER, is an Austrian manufacturer of scaffolding and formwork systems headquartered in Regau, Upper Austria. Founded in 1944 by Stefanie Ringer as a tool forge in Vöcklabruck, the company has grown into a specialist supplier of construction equipment, serving customers in Austria and throughout the world. It remains a genuine family business, with multiple generations of the Ringer family active in management and ownership. RINGER's product range includes steel and aluminium scaffolding systems, steel and aluminium frame formwork, slab formwork, floor props, scaffolding trestles, and accessories. Notable products include the MASTER steel system, ST2000 steel light formwork, RINGER tables, AluDEK, and the Eazyboard levelling system for slab formwork. The company emphasises high material quality, safety, fast on-site operation, and cost efficiency. Its formwork systems are designed to be low-weight, highly stable, and extremely load-bearing, suitable for a wide range of construction purposes. RINGER operates from its headquarters and production site in Regau, with an additional branch in Emmersdorf, Lower Austria. The company has expanded its export activities since the late 1990s, working with sales agencies in Germany, Russia, Switzerland, the Czech Republic, Slovenia, Slovakia, Bulgaria, Hungary, Montenegro, and other markets. It holds ISO 9001:2015 quality management certification since 1996 and is an EN 1090-2 certified welding company (execution class EXC2). RINGER has received numerous industry awards, including repeated recognition as "Austria's best formwork supplier" by the trade journal SOLID, and its products have been named Product of the Year multiple times. In 2026, the Eazyboard levelling system won the gold award in the Construction | Concrete Construction category at the readers' choice awards organised by the trade journal Baugewerbe. The company continues to be led by members of the Ringer family, with Thomas Ringer serving as Export Director.
History
The history of RINGER began in 1944 when Stefanie Ringer founded a tool forge in Vöcklabruck, Austria. In the post-war years, the company expanded its product range: in 1958 it began manufacturing floor props and producing scaffolding trestles and similar equipment, and in 1961 it produced its first steel scaffolding. The involvement of Franz, Josef, and Isidor Ringer marked the transition to the next generation. In 1968, the company was reorganised as RINGER KG by Josef (†), Isidor (†), and Franz Ringer. The 1970s brought further growth: Peter Ringer joined the company in 1977, and in 1979 the first branch site was opened in Emmersdorf, Lower Austria. A major innovation followed in 1987 with the production and market launch of Austria's first aluminium frame formwork. Markus Ringer joined the company in 1988. In 1992, the company again manufactured floor props and produced scaffolding trestles and similar equipment. In 1993, the first production and storage building was erected at the current location in Regau. In 1997, storage capacity in Regau was expanded by 150%, and the company began focusing on exports, collaborating with sales agencies in Germany, Russia, Switzerland, the Czech Republic, Slovenia, Slovakia, Bulgaria, Hungary, Montenegro, and other countries. In 2001, DI(FH) Thomas Ringer joined the company. Production, storage, and office buildings were expanded, and the Vöcklabruck site was closed. In 2004, the new steel MASTER System with a panel height of 3.30 m was launched. In 2006, the ST2000 steel light formwork was introduced, and a new 2,600 m² production building was constructed. In 2007, RINGER tables were launched, and the company was awarded "Austria's best formwork supplier" by the trade journal SOLID. In 2008, storage in Regau was further expanded. In 2009, RINGER received the Vöckla Award for "The most successful large company in the region" from local TV station BTV. In 2010, the office wing in Regau was expanded. In 2011, Philipp Ringer joined the company, and a formwork production facility in Hungary was acquired. Since 1996, RINGER has maintained a certified quality management system in accordance with ISO 9001:2015, supporting continuous growth since 1998. The company is also an EN 1090-2 certified welding company (execution class EXC2). RINGER has been repeatedly recognised as Austria's best formwork supplier by SOLID, and its products have won multiple Product of the Year awards. In 2026, the Eazyboard levelling system for slab formwork was named Product of the Year 2026 in the Construction | Concrete Construction category by the trade journal Baugewerbe. The company remains a family-owned business, with Thomas Ringer serving as Export Director.
