Overview

Roschier is a Nordic law firm that traces its founding to 1936, when Åke Roschier-Holmberg founded the firm. It describes itself as a forward-looking Nordic law firm providing bespoke advice and supporting clients through growth and change, with offices in Helsinki and Stockholm and a one-firm approach emphasizing client orientation, professionalism, teamwork, ethics and a pioneering spirit. The firm states it has close to 300 legal practitioners and is the exclusive Finnish member of Lex Mundi.

History

Roschier traces its origins to Finland's first female attorney, Agnes Lundell (1878-1936), who started her own law firm in 1911; after her death in 1936, Åke Roschier-Holmberg bought her law practice. The firm states that since Åke Roschier-Holmberg founded the firm in 1936, Roschier has had one main objective: to always focus on the client. Arne Waselius joined the firm in 1944, becoming a partner three years later. In the 1940s, Åke Roschier-Holmberg was appointed legal advisor to the British Embassy in Finland, and he served as President of the Finnish Bar between 1968 and 1972; in 1977 he was granted the honorary title of Chief Judge by the President of Finland. Today, Roschier has offices in Helsinki and Stockholm.
