In early 2021 the ownership of SØR was restructured: after sixty years the Rusche family handed the family business to Bonavest GmbH. The new owner set the goal of modernizing SØR and preparing it for the challenges expected from digitalization, and of re-establishing it as one of the top addresses in German specialist retail. The company states that it went from formerly 60 stores to 11 (10 stationary SØR locations and one Monobrand Eleventy store) plus an online store, with stores distributed across Germany, including Sylt, Norderney, Hamburg, Hannover, Berlin, Rottach-Egern and Garmisch-Partenkirchen. In 2021 the company underwent an extensive renovation phase, and today all stores are said to shine in a new, contemporary style.
