Salvagnini

Salvagnini is a company that has been designing, producing and selling flexible systems for sheet metal processing for more than sixty years. Its product range includes panel benders, punching machines, press-brakes, fiber laser cutting machines, FMS lines, automatic store-towers and software, used in a wide range of industries. The company was founded in 1963 in Quarto Oggiaro by Guido Salvagnini, moved to Bresso in 1970 and to Sarego in 1974, where Salvagnini Italia still is today. It reports 25 branches, 5 plants, 2108 people, 530 Mio €, over 9,500 installations in 87 different countries, and 36 service centers.

The company that is now Salvagnini was founded in 1963 in Quarto Oggiaro by Guido Salvagnini to specialize in the design and manufacture of lubrication units. In 1970, the company moved to Bresso, near the airport. In 1974, it moved its headquarters to Sarego, where Salvagnini Italia still is today. In 1977, Salvagnini designed the first panel bender, named P4. The S4 combined punching-shearing center has continued to evolve since 1978. Combining the S4 punching-shearing machine and the P4 panel bender resulted in the first flexible manufacturing system ever built; the S4+P4 line was a milestone in the development of integrated logistics systems. In 1985, a fully automated factory designed and built for General Electric was completely autonomous in scrap optimization, production, and restart after a power blackout; after 27 years of production, the first automatic factory in history was definitively discontinued.
