History
Scotsman Ice Systems pioneered the development of affordable, reliable ice-making machines in the 1950s. In 1950, American Gas developed the first Scotsman Cube Ice Machine. In 1960, cube ice machines started using condenser-heated hot water for harvest, and medium cube size was introduced. In 1968, the first residential ice machine was introduced, model SM15. In 1980, after outgrowing their space in Albert Lea, Minnesota, Scotsman finished construction and moved into a new manufacturing facility in Fairfax, South Carolina. In 1981, the first commercial nugget ice machine was invented, model MH750. In 1990, Scotsman Industries went public on the NYSE.
Products and positioning

Brilliance Nugget Ice Machine
Delivers the same nugget ice Scotsman invented and brought to the foodservice industry in 1981; soft, compacted ice in classic nugget form.
Legacy and Brilliance Gourmet Cubers
Produce crystal clear, taste-free and odorless ice; the unique shape prevents clumping and allows the cubes to melt slower.
