Overview
Senior Goldmine is a newsletter publication based in Nampa, Idaho, serving the Treasure Valley area. It was created in 2010 by Terry Smith and his wife Jan to provide a community service for seniors. The publication is distributed free to readers and features stories, milestone birthdays, and anniversaries of local seniors.
History
Senior Goldmine was created in 2010 out of a desire to provide a community service for the underappreciated seniors of the Treasure Valley. Creator and publisher Terry Smith shares about his motivation to launch Senior Goldmine: 'Jan and I have lived in southwest Idaho for nearly fifty years. During that time I gained invaluable experience in public relations, marketing, sales, writing and editing.' The newsletter was launched in October 2010 as a small, four-page newsletter in Canyon County, Idaho. In November 2011 it expanded into Ada County, eventually growing to eight pages in Canyon County and ten pages in Ada County. A third edition was started in April 2015.
