Overview

ShipHero is a warehouse management system (WMS) designed from the ground up for eCommerce operations. It was created in 2013 by founder and CEO Aaron Rubin, who was running his own direct-to-consumer brand and could not find warehouse software built for eCommerce. The platform is used by more than 5,000 warehouses across North America and beyond, serving customers from Shopify Plus brands to high-volume third-party logistics (3PL) providers. ShipHero's customers use it to streamline receiving and putaway, picking, packing, shipping, labor tracking, and returns. In 2019 the company launched ShipHero Fulfillment, a 3PL powered entirely by its WMS; in 2023 that fulfillment business was spun off into a separate company, LVK, allowing ShipHero to focus on building and supporting warehouse software.

History

ShipHero was born out of firsthand frustration. In 2013, founder and CEO Aaron Rubin was running his own direct-to-consumer brand and couldn't find warehouse software built for eCommerce; most platforms were designed for wholesale and manufacturing, not for fast-moving, multi-channel online orders. He built what he needed: a warehouse management system (WMS) designed from the ground up for eCommerce operations, and that platform became ShipHero. As demand for the software grew, so did interest in how the company ran its own operations. In 2019, ShipHero launched ShipHero Fulfillment, a 3PL powered entirely by its WMS. Running its own network of fulfillment centers gave the company valuable insights and helped it build a better product. In 2023, ShipHero spun off that fulfillment business into a separate company, LVK, allowing ShipHero to focus fully on building and supporting warehouse software for brands and 3PLs.
