History

Skybound Capital's history begins in 1994 when the core management team started Blue Ink Investments, an alternative investment fund manager. In 2001, Blue Ink Investment launched the first Fund of Hedge Funds in South Africa. In 2007, Blue Ink Investment was sold following a corporate action with Sanlam, and Skybound Capital Limited became operational with offices established in Mauritius. In 2008, the South African company Skybound Capital (Pty) Ltd was established, and the original management team regrouped under the Skybound banner. Also in 2008, Skybound Capital (UK) Ltd was established with offices in London. In 2010, an office was set up in Hong Kong. In 2011, regulatory approval was granted to Skybound Capital UK Ltd by the UK Financial Conduct Authority. In 2014, Skybound Capital (AU) Ltd was incorporated in Australia, and Skybound Fidelis Investment Limited was established. In 2018, regulatory approval was granted to Skybound Fidelis Investment Limited by the Australian Securities & Investments Commission, and Skybound Capital launched Teybridge Capital for structured trade finance. In 2021, Skybound Capital Limited signed the UN-supported Principles for Responsible Investment. In 2022, Skybound Consulting Ltd was launched in Mauritius, and the launch of Teybridge Europe in Dublin extended capabilities to include invoice financing.
