History
Smappee states that since 2012 it has been turning renewable energy into something smarter, more powerful and more beautiful, an approach it calls designed energy intelligence. Its story is traced back to the 1970s, when a twelve-year-old boy in West Flanders drew plans for a hydrogen-powered submarine; that boy was Stefan Grosjean, the company's founder and CEO. Smappee says it was founded on the belief that energy should be clean, intelligent and available to everyone.
