SpaceX AI unit confirms attendance at New York City Council AI safety hearing after subpoena
The New York City Council announced on Oct 13 that SpaceXAI has agreed to appear before the technology committee's AI safety hearing at 10 a.m. on Oct 16. The council issued a subpoena to the company on Sept 28 requiring testimony; after SpaceXAI did not attend the Oct 5 hearing, the council told the company it would apply to the New York State Supreme Court for enforcement. SpaceXAI then requested a meeting on Oct 7 and confirmed participation in the follow-up hearing. Council members will question the company on data privacy, safety safeguards and whistleblower protection. Senior representatives of Anthropic, Google, Meta and OpenAI testified at last week's hearing.

Omacom Foundation launches with $23.5 million in pledges and donations
The Omacom Foundation was incorporated as a nonprofit to hold trademarks, fund infrastructure, promote the work, and support open-source projects and developers Omarchy depends on.
