Sporta Avīze

Sporta Avīze is a Latvian sports press publication. It was founded in autumn 1995 by Armands Puče and a group of like-minded individuals as a 16-page black-and-white weekly newspaper. After a few years it began to be printed in colour, and in 2000 it was transformed into a weekly magazine. Since the beginning of 2014 it has been published once a month. In autumn 2019 the company Dienas mediji acquired the publication's brand and design templates. The magazine consists of three large thematic blocks: commentary and analysis of sports events; interviews with athletes and stories from behind the scenes of their professional daily lives; and a practical sports advice section for both beginners and amateurs.
