History

SSW Partners has led cross-border investments alongside global businesses such as Qualcomm and institutional investors including Starwood Capital, Sixth Street, Warburg Pincus and QIA. In 2021, SSW led the US$4.6 billion take-private of Veoneer, a Swedish automotive technology provider, alongside Qualcomm. Following the acquisition, SSW separated Veoneer into three distinct business lines for which it ultimately found the right long-term homes: Arriver Software to Qualcomm, Active Safety to Magna International, and Restraint Control Systems to American Industrial Partners. In 2024, SSW co-led the US$7.1 billion take-private of ESR Group from the Hong Kong Stock Exchange – the largest HKSE privatization since 2021. SSW and its consortium partners have helped transform ESR into a more focused business positioned for long-term growth.
