Stara

Stara is a Brazilian agricultural machinery brand based in Não-Me-Toque/RS. Its history traces to the Stapelbroek family, who emigrated from the Netherlands to Brazil in 1949 and in 1953 founded a small workshop, Stapelbroek Rauwers & Cia Ltda, focused on assembling and maintaining imported agricultural machines and implements. The company states its history spans more than six decades of innovation. Stara's product range includes self-propelled distributors, sprayers, planters and seeders, agricultural implements, and precision-agriculture technology and services.

The history of Stara begins in the Netherlands, where the Stapelbroek family lived and worked as blacksmiths and farmers. After World War II, Johannes Bernardus Stapelbroek decided to leave the Netherlands to distance the family from the socioeconomic crisis and avoid his children being called up for a new conflict. After a four-week ship journey, the family arrived at the Port of Santos, São Paulo, on April 19, 1949, and went to Fazenda Ribeirão in Holambra/SP. In 1953, not finding favorable conditions in Holambra and encouraged by Dutch priests, the family moved to Não-Me-Toque/RS. There, Johannes Bernardus Stapelbroek formed a partnership with Gerrit Jan Rauwers and founded a small workshop, Stapelbroek Rauwers & Cia Ltda, whose main activity was the assembly and maintenance of agricultural machines and implements imported from Europe. In 1960, Stapelbroek e Cia Ltda was created. The company describes its history as more than six decades of innovation and constant evolution.
