Studio Dott

Studio Dott is a Belgian design studio founded in 2000 by Pieter Lesage, originally operating under the name "Concrete". The studio built its reputation on impactful, cross-disciplinary design, expanding over the years from product design into brand design, service design and spatial design. In 2024, after a merger with Achilles Design, the two agencies went forward together under the new name Superellipse, an innovation agency that combines strategy, product development and experience design. Studio Dott's legacy lives on within Superellipse, which serves clients across industries including sports, consumer goods, healthcare, mobility and cultural experiences. Studio Dott was founded in 2000 by Pieter Lesage under the name "Concrete". From its base in Belgium, the studio initially focused on product design but soon broadened its scope. By 2010, both Studio Dott (then Concrete) and the fellow Belgian agency Achilles Design had expanded their skillsets to include brand design, service design and spatial design, becoming cross-disciplinary practices. In 2019, Colruyt Group became a minority shareholder in Achilles Design, providing capital for further growth. That same year, Achilles Design and Studio Dott announced their intention to merge, citing very similar cultures and service offerings. The merger was completed in 2024, and the combined entity was rebranded as Superellipse. Under the Superellipse banner, the agency continues to operate from Belgium, serving clients across a wide range of industries with a team that combines design, engineering and strategy. The Superellipse website notes that the agency brings together over 30 years of industry know-how, with Studio Dott contributing a significant part of that legacy.
