Overview
Studio Z is a Brazilian footwear and accessories retail chain founded in 1975 by Walma Zanatta, who began selling shoes from her yellow Brasília. The brand operates over 100 stores across Brazil and an e-commerce platform, positioning itself as an accessible, omnichannel fashion retailer. Its product mix includes own-brand footwear developed via sourcing, as well as licensed character merchandise from Disney, Marvel, and others, catering to women, men, and children. The company emphasizes self-service, competitive pricing, and a seamless online-to-offline experience. With more than 800,000 customers per month and a strong social media following, Studio Z continues to expand its reach while maintaining its headquarters in Santa Catarina.
History
Studio Z's history began in 1975 when founder Walma Zanatta started a shoe trade from her yellow Brasília. Shortly after, she opened the Gabriela shoe store in Várzea Grande, Mato Grosso. In 1985, the brand expanded to the capitals of Mato Grosso and Mato Grosso do Sul. In 1992, the first Meio Preço store was inaugurated, introducing an innovative self-service model. Between 2003 and 2006, the network reached southern Brazil with the opening of its 30th store in Paraná. In 2007, Calcard was created as the group's card administrator, strengthening customer relationships. In 2008, the first Studio Z store opened in Balneário Camboriú, aiming to offer the best customer experience within the self-service model. In 2011, the headquarters moved to Santa Catarina and the group's largest distribution center was opened in Palhoça. The brand continues to invest in innovation and omnichannel experience, operating over 100 stores and serving more than 800,000 customers per month.
