Overview

Teleducato was an Italian regional television broadcaster founded in 1977 in Parma by Comm. Nello Gaiti. It began broadcasting on UHF channels 22 and 26, offering a generalist schedule that included films, cartoons, live coverage of Parma Football Club matches (then in Serie C), horoscopes, and Maurizio Seymandi's Superclassifica Show. In the 1980s, the station expanded its reach to cover the entire Emilia-Romagna region via UHF channel 26. In 1982, Europarma TV joined the Euro TV consortium, and in 1987 Teleducato was among the founding broadcasters of the Odeon TV syndication. A second channel, Teleducato Piacenza, was created and broadcast on UHF channel 34 with local programming such as TG Piacenza 24 Ore, L'altro calcio, and Serata salute. The last president and CEO was Pierluigi Gaiti, with Pietro Adrasto Ferraguti as director in Parma and Mirella Molinari in Piacenza. The station was part of the Supersix circuit. In 2016, following the cessation of activities by Telmec, Teleducato Piacenza ceased to exist, and production of audiovisual media services for all television channels, including Teleducato Parma and Teleducato Piacenza, was halted from early 2016; the channels were sold and the company continued as a network operator. Teleducato Piacenza was reborn as 12 Teleducato through a cooperative initiative, linking with historic broadcasters from Reggio Emilia, Modena, Bologna (Telereggio and TRC), and Romagna. 12 Teleducato specialized in content production and network operation, acquiring numerous LCN channel numbers, especially in Emilia. In early 2018, 12 Teleducato and the historic TV Parma decided to join forces, and on 12 May 2018, 12 TV Parma was born. The Teleducato brand disappeared completely from the Emilia airwaves.

History

Teleducato was founded in 1977 in Parma by Comm. Nello Gaiti, marking the beginning of his venture into the television sector. The station broadcast on UHF channels 22 and 26, offering a generalist schedule that included films, cartoons, live coverage of Parma Football Club matches (then in Serie C), horoscopes, and Maurizio Seymandi's Superclassifica Show. In the 1980s, the broadcaster expanded its audience base to cover the entire Emilia-Romagna region with its UHF channel 26. In 1982, Europarma TV joined the Euro TV consortium, reflecting the group's greater ambitions. In 1987, Teleducato was among the founding broadcasters of the Odeon TV syndication. The station also operated a second channel, Teleducato Piacenza, broadcasting on UHF channel 34 with programs such as TG Piacenza 24 Ore, L'altro calcio, and Serata salute. The last president and CEO was Pierluigi Gaiti, with Pietro Adrasto Ferraguti as director in Parma and Mirella Molinari in Piacenza. Teleducato was part of the Supersix circuit. In 2016, following the cessation of activities by Telmec, Teleducato Piacenza ceased to exist. According to Telemec, despite a significant recapitalization by all partners for the immediate securing of the company, it became necessary to cease the production of audiovisual media services for all television channels, including Teleducato Parma and Teleducato Piacenza, from the early months of 2016; to sell the channels; and to continue as a network operator by transporting the signal of other broadcasters. After the closure of Teleducato Piacenza, it was reborn as 12 Teleducato through a cooperative initiative, linking with historic broadcasters from Reggio Emilia, Modena, and Bologna (Telereggio and TRC) and Romagna.
