Overview
The old Tellin bell foundry is a unique site that embodies the history and bell-making craftsmanship, a secular tradition that still resonates through its buildings and period tools. It is managed by the association Tellin-Fonderie ASBL, located at Val des Cloches, 129A, 6927 Tellin. The foundry is open from March 1 to November 15, and all year round for groups of at least 10 people by reservation.
History
The history of Tellin, a village between Lesse and Lhomme, is closely linked to the art of bell-making. In 1832, Charles Causard decided to build a fixed foundry in Tellin. From Charles Causard to Georges II Slégers, from 1832 to 1970, four generations of master founders succeeded each other at the head of the family business.
