Overview

Tempi Duri (also known as Tempi Duri Records) was an Italian record label specialising in rap music. It was founded in 2011 by the Italian rapper Fabri Fibra together with the Italian music manager Paola Zukar, drawing on their years of experience in the Italian music scene. The label was based in Italy and operated primarily in the Italian market, releasing albums and mixtapes by a roster of Italian rap and hip-hop artists. The label's first release was Entics' album Soundboy, issued on 20 September 2011 with distribution by Sony Music. It was followed on 1 October 2011 by a free-download mixtape, Lo capisci l'italiano?! Rap Controcultura, by DJ Double S. On 10 October 2011 the label released Cattivo, a free-download mixtape by Maxi B that anticipated his new album L'ottavo giorno della settimana, distributed by Universal. Fabri Fibra subsequently announced on the label's official Facebook page that Mastafive had joined the label's team. In 2012 the label released further projects, including DJ Double S's mixtape Al centro della scena Mixtape on 23 June 2012 and an MTV Spit mixtape containing freestyles by participating artists, issued for free download on 6 July 2012. On 14 May 2013 the label released Stecca, the debut album of rapper Moreno, winner of the 12th edition of Amici. On 28 May 2013 it released Clementino's album Mea culpa, and on 28 January 2014 it released Rayden's fourth solo album, Raydeneide. In 2014 the roster began to change: on 24 April 2014 Entics left the label and released a new album, Entics Television. - Vol. 3, through Sony Music. Maxi B made the same choice, announcing via Facebook on 31 May that he would release the album Maledetto through a new label. In spring 2015 the label's Facebook and Twitter pages were deleted and its official website was taken down. Without any official statement, the label appeared to have closed. Subsequent albums by Fabri Fibra and Clementino were released entirely by Universal Music Group.
