Tentipi

Tentipi is a Swedish brand that describes itself as the Nordic tipi pioneer, creating spaces for good times since 1989. Its bespoke premium tents are inspired by a design refined through thousands of years, blending heritage and innovation. The range spans Adventure portable tents for family camping and extreme expeditions, Events giant Nordic tipis for occasions such as weddings and hospitality, and Glamping exclusive tent cabins for luxurious overnight stays. Products include models such as Safir, Zirkon, Stratus, Cirrus, Nimbus, Aurum, Onyx, Granit, Olivin, and ZirkonDuo, along with accessories like porches, fireplaces, and stoves.

The idea for Tentipi came to its founder while sitting by a stream in the wilds of Swedish Lapland, after a day of white-water rafting and river canoeing, wanting to socialise and eat dinner with friends around a fire. More than ten years later, while working as a church warden in the small village of Moskosel, Swedish Lapland, the founder decided to make cone-shaped tents – Nordic tipis – inspired by shelters traditionally used by the Sami people, built around the open fire for heat, cooking and socialising. With almost no sewing experience, the first tent was crafted in the basement of an old school building and sold through mail-order. The company later moved out of that basement in Moskosel and now owns the factory down the road. It has sold tents on all continents and states it has created a worldwide Nordic tipi event industry employing hundreds of people, with products used for arctic expeditions as well as beach parties in Mauritius.
