Founded in 1946 by William McMenimon, who began working out of his Jeep with one key machine while training to become a pilot — the origin of the unusual name. The business opened a small key shop in Boston and later moved to nearby suburbs. It passed to his four sons, and Barry L. McMenimon expanded the company; his sons Brett and Barry P, the third generation, expanded it by franchising the business model. The company describes itself as a nationwide leader in commercial access control and physical security integration, serving clients across 35 states with 90+ locally owned and operated locations, and offering access control, CCTV/security cameras, doors and frames, door hardware, intercoms, locks and keys, locksmith services, and safes.
