UnionPay and banks launch Face Pay
China UnionPay and more than 60 institutions, including commercial banks, jointly launched the Face Pay product at a forum in Wuzhen, Zhejiang. The product enables customers to pay by face recognition and a payment password in participating merchants' settings.

ICBC completes domestic preferred-share issuance
Industrial and Commercial Bank of China said it had received RMB 70 billion in gross proceeds from its private placement of 700 million domestic preferred shares. The proceeds, after issuance expenses, were to be used to replenish the bank’s other Tier 1 capital.
