Exchange trading commenced via Trayport in 2003, and by 2009 100 clients were using Trayport's screen for the first time. Energy Market Access went live in 2013, and TMX acquired Trayport in 2017. In 2019 Data Analytics launched and the company acquired autoTRADER and Periotheus; in 2020 US power contracts became available; in 2021 it acquired Tradesignal; and in 2022 Asian power markets went live on Joule via TOCOM. As of 2025 the company reports 400+ clients. Trayport Limited is a wholly-owned subsidiary of TMX Group Limited.
