Overview

TRS TV is an Italian regional television broadcaster founded in 1975 and based in the Cremona area of Lombardy. Over its history the station has changed names several times — from Tele Vailate (1975) through Rts Televailate (1976), Televailate (1977), TRS Supersonic Tv (1978), Trs-Tv in the 1990s, and Trs-Evergreen (2013) — before returning to the original TRS name in the fourth quarter of 2022. In its early years it broadcast on three UHF channels (25, 60 and 61) covering the entire province of Cremona, with a schedule that included a local news bulletin, films, TV series, documentaries, cartoons and sports programming. In the 1990s TRS TV joined the Italia 9 Network circuit. During the 2000s its schedule centred on daily local news, with the telegiornale Quotidiano Tv broadcast in two editions (12:15 and 19:15), the Sunday current-affairs programme Magazine, and the Monday-evening football show Fuorigioco dedicated to amateur football. Many programmes, including the news, were produced using a virtual studio. Another staple was Evergreen, a music programme rotating music videos from the 1970s, 1980s and 1990s, with themed variants such as Rock the Night, Classic Gold, 80 Party, 90 Party and Party Dance, and an interactive Evergreen Richieste slot. With the arrival of digital terrestrial television the channel expanded its reach. From December 2012, following the reassignment of television frequencies, it moved to UHF channel 51 on the TeleColor MUX, extending coverage to all of Lombardy, parts of eastern Piedmont and the provinces of Verona, Piacenza and Parma. In 2013 Trs-Evergreen pivoted to become an almost full-time music channel, adding viewer-centred formats such as Evergreen Top List and, from March 2014, a 'VJ for a day' edition allowing viewers to select and present their own playlists. In February 2016 the music programming ceased definitively due to the advertising market crisis, and the channel dedicated itself exclusively to teleshopping. Acquired by the Publirose S.p.A. group, it broadcast a single-theme car sales channel called TRS Auto (LCN 93). With new Mise determinations and LCN changes, in the fourth quarter of 2022 the broadcaster returned to its original TRS name with coverage across Lombardy, Piedmont and Liguria, and is now positioned as a luxury channel for the sale of jewellery, watches and dream cars.

History

TRS TV was founded in 1975 as Tele Vailate. In its early years the broadcaster changed names several times before settling on its current identity: Rts Televailate (1976), Televailate (1977), TRS Supersonic Tv (1978), Trs-Tv in the 1990s, and Trs-Evergreen (2013). With three operational channels (UHF 25, 60 and 61) the station reached the entire province of Cremona. Its early schedule included a local news bulletin, films, TV series, documentaries, cartoons and sports programmes; among the most significant shows of that era was Una serata con voi. In the 1990s TRS TV joined the Italia 9 Network circuit. During the 2000s the channel's schedule featured a daily local news appointment with the telegiornale Quotidiano Tv, broadcast in two editions (12:15 and 19:15), the Sunday current-affairs programme Magazine, and the sports programme Fuorigioco dedicated to amateur football (Monday evenings from 20:30 to 22:00). Many programmes, including the news, were produced using a virtual studio. Another fixture was Evergreen, a music programme rotating music videos from the 1970s, 1980s and 1990s; depending on the genres aired it was called Rock the Night, Classic Gold, 80 Party, 90 Party or Party Dance. During Evergreen Richieste viewers could call in to make video requests (live on Thursday evenings from 20:00 to 22:00, repeated on Sundays from 14:00 to 16:00). With the advent of digital terrestrial television the channel expanded its audience. From December 2012, following the reassignment of television frequencies, it moved to UHF channel 51 on the TeleColor MUX, extending coverage to all of Lombardy, parts of eastern Piedmont and the provinces of Verona, Piacenza and Parma. In 2013 Trs-Evergreen pivoted to become an almost full-time music channel, positioning itself as a reference for fans of the genres it featured and putting viewers at the centre with the programme Evergreen Top List (Saturdays 20:00–21:00 and Sundays 09:00–10:00). From March 2014 a 'VJ for a day' edition of the scheduled programmes allowed viewers to select the playlist of their favourite programme and come to the studio to present it. In February 2016 the music programming ceased definitively due to the advertising market crisis, and the channel dedicated itself exclusively to teleshopping. Acquired by the Publirose S.p.A. group, it broadcast a single-theme car sales channel called TRS Auto (LCN 93). With new Mise determinations and LCN changes, in the fourth quarter of 2022 the broadcaster returned to its original TRS name with coverage across Lombardy, Piedmont and Liguria. It is now described as the luxury channel for the sale of jewellery, watches and dream cars.
