Overview

TSK is a Spanish engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) group headquartered in the Science and Technology Park of Gijón, Asturias. Its legal name is TSK Electrónica y Electricidad, S.A., and it traces its origins to Transformación de Materiales Especiales, S.A., founded in Bilbao on 5 June 1963. The present company was formed in 1986 by merging the electrical engineering division of ERPO (formerly Erhardt Proyectos y Obras) with the electrical installations department of Ertank, and in 1989 Transformación de Materiales Especiales absorbed TSK Electrónica y Electricidad, adopting the latter's name. In 1990 the group was acquired by Conort Ingeniería y Montajes Eléctricos, a company created in 1989 by industrial expert Sabino García Vallina, who had previously directed electrical installations at Ertank and later operations at TSK. TSK designs, builds and maintains industrial plants and energy facilities, including gas and oil installations, power plants, electrical and electronic systems, and environmental and water/sludge treatment works. Its service scope covers studies, engineering design, manufacturing, assembly, supply, commissioning, maintenance, operation and advisory services. The company operates across several business areas: energy and industrial plants, handling, electrical infrastructures, and corporate services. It has carried out projects worldwide, such as the water treatment plant at the Noor I solar thermal complex in Ouarzazate, Morocco (capacity 570 m³/h of raw surface water), the El Sauz 300 MW combined-cycle plant in Querétaro, Mexico, the Yanbu refinery in Saudi Arabia, and a complete coke handling system for the ExxonMobil refinery in Antwerp, Belgium. TSK positions itself as a reference in the energy transition and industrial decarbonisation, stating that it has spent 40 years offering services and technology that contribute to more sustainable development. It is also described as a leader in electrical grid stabilisation plants. The group emphasises talent attraction and retention as key to its success, offering international development opportunities and continuous training. In April 2026 TSK announced its intention to carry out a public subscription offer (OPS), and it began trading on the Spanish continuous market on 13 May 2026. In its first half as a listed company it reported a net profit of 44.8 million euros. The company has grown through acquisitions, including PHB Weserhütte (1995), Ingeniería de Manutención Asturiana (Ingemas) and Ingeniería y Realizaciones Eléctricas (Irelsa) in 2007, Flagsol Engineering GmbH (2013), OmegaEngineering (2015), Intecsa Oil&Gas (2016) and the engineering subsidiary of Ingeteam (2017). It received the silver medal of the Principality of Asturias in 2010 and the IDEPA IMPULSO award for internationalisation in 2011.

History

TSK's history begins on 5 June 1963, when Transformación de Materiales Especiales, S.A. was incorporated by notarial deed in Bilbao, authorised by notary José María Gómez y Rodríguez-Alcalde. In 1986, TSK Electrónica y Electricidad, S.A. was created through the merger of the electrical engineering division of ERPO (formerly Erhardt Proyectos y Obras) and the electrical installations department of Ertank. In 1989, Transformación de Materiales Especiales, S.A. absorbed TSK Electrónica y Electricidad, S.A., adopting the latter's name while the absorbed entity was dissolved without liquidation. In 1990, the company was acquired by Conort Ingeniería y Montajes Eléctricos, a firm established in 1989 by Sabino García Vallina, an industrial expert from Celles (Siero) who had been director of electrical installations at Ertank from 1981 and later director of operations at TSK. The company grew through strategic acquisitions: PHB Weserhütte in 1995; Ingeniería de Manutención Asturiana, S.A. (Ingemas) and Ingeniería y Realizaciones Eléctricas, S.A. (Irelsa) in 2007; Flagsol Engineering GmbH in 2013; OmegaEngineering in 2015; Intecsa Oil&Gas in 2016; and the engineering subsidiary of Ingeteam in 2017. These acquisitions expanded TSK's capabilities in materials handling, electrical engineering, solar thermal engineering, and oil and gas. TSK's project portfolio spans the globe. Notable references include the water treatment plant at the Noor I solar thermal complex in Ouarzazate, Morocco, designed and built by TSK with a capacity to process 570 m³/h of raw surface water; the El Sauz 300 MW combined-cycle plant in Querétaro, Mexico; the Yanbu refinery in Saudi Arabia, described as a world reference; and a complete coke handling system for the ExxonMobil refinery in Antwerp, Belgium. In 2010, TSK received the silver medal of the Principality of Asturias, and in 2011 it won the IMPULSO award from IDEPA for internationalisation. On 24 April 2026, TSK announced its intention to carry out a public subscription offer (OPS), and on 13 May 2026 it began trading on the Spanish continuous market. In its first half as a listed company, TSK reported a net profit of 44.8 million euros. The company continues to position itself as a reference in the energy transition and decarbonisation of industry, leveraging over 40 years of experience.
