History

UCL Press was established in June 2015 as the UK's first fully open access university press. It was launched as part of UCL's commitment to open research and scholarship. Since launching, UCL Press has published over 400 scholarly monographs and 11 textbooks, and has built a portfolio of 15 scholarly journals. Its publications have been downloaded more than 20 million times (correct to end of May 2025) in 242 countries and territories around the world.
