History

According to the company's history page, Resibel (Belgium) started producing Bakelite products, including closures for a variety of market applications, and later began producing plastic closure solutions for mainly non-food-related market applications. Resibel (Belgium) and Delatour (France) then started a joint cooperation in plastic caps & closure system manufacturing for food and non-food applications. The joint venture launched Wincap in Luxembourg and deployed its international sales force structure. It acquired 50% of Domingo Pascual Carbo (DPC) in Spain and launched Winplant in Hungary. PROCAP Group (PROCAP Luxembourg S.A.) was introduced, aligning individual manufacturing plants under the PROCAP umbrella, including PROCAP Duna Ipari Zrt, PROCAP Hoboken NV, PROCAP Llagostera SAU, PROCAP Messia SA and PROCAP Wiltz SA. The acquisition of Domingo Pascual Carbo (DPC) in Spain was completed at 100%. PROCAP acquired Elocap Luxembourg, introducing PROCAP CP; acquired MacFarlane in Ireland, introducing PROCAP Wicklow (today Greystones) Ltd; and acquired Schöeller Cap Systems (SCS) in Germany, introducing PROCAP Schwerin. The company was rebranded as UNITED CAPS, identifying as a true global player. UNITED CAPS purchased the Caps, Closures, and Handles business of Dewit Plastics and acquired the Plastic Closures division of Closures4you. It acquired the Spanish closure manufacturer Embalatap and surpassed 10 billion (units).
