Volvo Cars launches Safety Coach driving-behaviour app[1]
Volvo Cars is introducing Safety Coach, an optional app that analyses driving behaviour such as braking, acceleration, cornering and speed and provides personalised safety coaching via the vehicle infotainment system and the Volvo Cars mobile app. It is being introduced initially in Sweden and Norway for most Volvo models from model year 2020 onwards, with customers able to opt in to share driving data with insurer Volvia for usage-based insurance offers. Volvo plans to expand to the Americas and selected European markets. The app was developed with Cambridge Mobile Telematics, which provides the scoring algorithm.
