Overview

Wall GmbH is a German company that has been a partner of cities in Germany for over 40 years, designing high-quality and aesthetic street furniture. It is part of the JCDecaux group, the world market leader in outdoor advertising. The company also operates under the brand WallDecaux for marketing its advertising spaces.

History

Wall was founded in 1976 when Hans Wall established Wall Verkehrsanlagen GmbH in Ettlingen, becoming the first German street furniture and outdoor advertising company with its own production plant. In 1984, the company won the tender for BVG waiting halls in Berlin and moved its headquarters to Berlin. In 1999, the company was converted into Wall AG with its main office at Friedrichstraße 118 in Berlin. In 2008, Wall took over VVR Berek and founded the subsidiary DIE DRAUSSENWERBER GmbH. In 2010, digital advertising started in Berlin's Friedrichstraße underground station, making it the first underground station worldwide to be fully equipped with digital advertising media. In 2015, the first digital City Light Posters (DCLP) were installed in Hamburg, starting the digitalization of the CLP format at Wall.
