Overview

World of Pizza is a German pizza delivery chain. According to its own company history, founder Torsten Kaldun opened the first delivery branch in Potsdam on 9 December 1998, initially operating almost as a one-man business. The company opened its own manufacturing facility in Ludwigsfelde in 2003 and began establishing a franchise system in 2004. Its menu spans pizza, burgers, bowls, snacks, pasta, wraps, desserts and drinks, including vegan, halal, gluten-free and spelt wholegrain options.

History

World of Pizza's own history states that its journey began in 1998, when the first branch was opened in Potsdam. On 9 December 1998, Torsten Kaldun founded the first delivery branch in Potsdam; at that time World of Pizza was practically a one-man operation, with the then 21-year-old handling everything from orders to delivery to advertising with only a few employees. In 2003, with the fourth delivery branch opened in Ludwigsfelde, the company gained the opportunity for its own manufacturing facility, enabling a centralized production and logistics system for the procurement of goods for all delivery branches belonging to the company. In 2004, it began implementing a franchise system; five years after starting, there were already four branches.
