Gan Brothers' Inheritance Feud Leads to Parent Company Being Ordered into Liquidation
In Hong Kong, second-generation Yung Kee Restaurant brothers Kam Kin-shing and Kam Kwan-lai fought for control of the group, with litigation lasting years; in 2015, the Hong Kong Court of Final Appeal ordered the liquidation of Yung Kee's parent company. During the inheritance dispute, Yung Kee's Michelin star rating was downgraded and it was removed from the guide starting in 2013. The parent company was liquidated, while the restaurant operating entity continued to operate.
