Fiido X Folding E-Bike Frame at Risk of Breaking, Nearly 3,000 Units Recalled
In April 2022, Fiido acknowledged that the magnesium alloy frame's folding structure on its Fiido X folding e-bike carried a risk of fatigue fracture and of "breaking in two" while riding; it announced a recall of 2,989 units produced between September 2021 and March 2022, suspended sales and notified owners to stop using the bikes. Owners could return them free of charge and exchange them for the upgraded Fiido X V2 or other models, or receive a refund of the price difference; the new frame came with a three-year warranty. Status: recall. Entity involved: Shenzhen Fiido Technology Co., Ltd. (Fiido). Scope: product recall.
